About Rooster’s Building and Agricultural Supplies
Walter Tarnasky and Frank Pusztai purchased Harriman Lumber in 2019 and have made this business their own. Now renamed Rooster’s Building and Agricultural Supplies, they have this wonderful opportunity to operate in the beautiful Caroline area. Both men have a long history in this area, having started in Rocky, building homes, schools, and commercial buildings, then expanding into oil and gas projects and municipal installations.
Walter and wife, Cecilia, raised 5 children in Caroline and played a lot of hockey, donating lots of volunteer hours at the local arena.
Frank, wife Bobbi-jo and their daughter have been the owners of the Caroline bottle depot since 2005.
He was Born and raised in Rocky Mountain House and worked in the construction industry building homes and commercial buildings for many years. He found he enjoys owning and operating his own business in a small-town setting with old country values.
These wonderful Business Owners think business is needed in small communities in these changing times. Shopping local keeps our communities strong for our families to come.
Their mission is to carry on the tradition of high-quality products, great prices and superior quality utility buildings. With the combined construction experience of 70 years, they can help their customers achieve outstanding outcomes with their projects.
“At Rooster’s, we think harder to build smarter and as Frankie says, WE got the good wood!”
Our community is fortunate to have such a great service available here.

The Caroline Chamber of Commerce October Business of the Month has been awarded to Caroline ATB.   I have attached three photos and here is a bit about Caroline ATB.
In 1939 the first Treasury office was opened by the Garritt family.  Eventually Mike and Muriel Steene purchased the Treasury Office and moved it to the local hotel.  In the 60’s and 70’s, the treasury services were offered from the hotel’s six-foot by eight-foot porch, which was equipped with a service buzzer.  Services offered were sale of driving, fishing, and hunting licenses and bank deposits (which were picked up Mondays and transported to the main branch in Rocky Mountain House.
The Treasury business was expanded gradually in the 70’s when the agency was relocated to a small building on Main Street and again in 1983 to a temporary trailer.  A new and permanent brick building was built the same year in the location it still is today.
Now called ATB Financial, the Caroline ATB serves the Caroline area.  Cash Money - Loans - Financing Services are just a few of the services being offered.  The Manager, Monica St. Dennis, along with three other ATB team members welcome their customers with a friendly smile.   They support many events in Caroline and are open Monday to Friday 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, with closure for lunch from 12:30 – 1:30. We are lucky to have this service in our small town.  Stop in and say hello to Monica, Kelty, Donnie, and Marci.

About Caroline Wheels of Time Museum
The Caroline Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month for August 2021 has been awarded to The Caroline Wheels of Time Museum. This fantastic attraction in Caroline is run by the Caroline and District Historical Society, which was founded in 1991. It is a volunteer organization of approximately 30 people whose goal is to preserve the history of Caroline by collecting artifacts, photos, historic buildings, oral histories and archival material.
The Caroline Wheels of Time Museum and Historical Village features the history of pioneers in the Caroline area. It has six buildings including the Trunnell House, a two-storey log home built in the early 1900’s and furnished with era related antiques. Next door, inside the Anderson Brothers “Trapper’s Cabin” you will find a number of mounted animals indigenous to the area along with a “tools” display. To the east of Trapper’s Cabin is a combination Village Office, Lock-Up, and Fire Hall, complete with a jail and fire engines. Last in this row is the old Cheddarville Church, which was moved to the museum in 2019 and restored. In the back row you will discover the Big Bend School, a one room country school and a teacherage. In the Museum’s Main building you will also find exhibits, which consist of the 100-year Family Pioneer Genealogy collection. The Caroline Feed Store carries a full array of bagged grains and specialty feeds; poultry feed and supplies; salt and minerals; feed, supplies and treats for the horse lover; and a huge variety of seeds and items for the wild bird enthusiasts. Managed by Emil Denham since 1994, and now by his daughter Jonina Rimmer, Caroline Hotel (also known as the "Old Bar" and the "Sportsmans Inn") offers beer, cocktails, coffee, pop, and snacks served by a friendly and competent staff of servers. Patrons can enjoy VLTs, free pool, and other games as well. Having been established in the 1940s, Caroline Hotel has long been one of the areas' favorite watering holes. This spring they added an outdoor patio and anticipate enjoying live music on it in the future.

Committed to the betterment of our community, the hotel has hosted benefits for locals in need, and have the popular Meat Draws throughout the fall and winter (operated by and benefiting groups such as 4H, Scouts, and Lions Club). They also support causes such as the Food Bank, Big Horn Rodeo, Dance West, and various sports teams from our area. Their patrons are especially important to them, not only as customers, but in many cases, as longtime friends. Emil, Jonina and staff are very thankful for them, and look forward to once again being able to host their annual Customer Appreciation. The Caroline area residents are extremely lucky to have Business Owners that care so much about it’s people.

This past year has been challenging for the Caroline Hotel. With COVID-19 restrictions in place the “Old Bar” has been ordered closed or restricted for much of it. The dedicated owners and staff look forward to the future as things return to normal and hope that they will continue to be a valued part of this friendly, growing, dynamic community.

Beaver Creek Mercantile was started in 2012 to support a compassion quilt ministry. Owner, Sharlene Jennings, started sewing her own clothes in her pre-teen years and has been passionate about sewing ever since.  With the event of marriage and raising children, sewing took a backseat to work and family obligations for a while. As soon as her two sons were old enough to be on their own, Sharlene enrolled in a fun & done quilting class.  Since 2008, she has completed hundreds of quilts.

When Sharlene isn’t enjoying the company of her family, she loves helping out her customers at her store in Caroline, Alberta, where the welcoming atmosphere provides visitors with a pleasant shopping experience, along with warm smiles, engaging conversation, and plenty of creative inspiration.

Meeting the creative needs of customers is her # 1 priority! That's why she goes the extra mile to provide them with the best selection of fabrics, sewing notions, quilting supplies (and more!) the industry has to offer...not to mention the friendliest service around!

Sharlene has also generously gifted many “prayer quilts” to people from the community who have been hurt or are ill.  She is a huge blessing to our area, and we congratulate her for her huge success.

Please feel free to contact her with any questions you may have...and check out her website at www.beavercreekmerc.com

The January 2021 Caroline Chamber of Commerce business of the month is the Caroline Royal Canadian Legion.

Congrats to the Caroline Royal Canadian Legion for being picked for the Caroline Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month for January.  Caroline Royal Canadian Legion opened February 23rd, 1946.

The Legion holds an awesome veterans memorabilia room called “The Serviceman’s Story”. This is a great display of Caroline’s veterans and its history.

This great organization was holding delicious Friday night suppers (take out only due to covid) and will be starting this up again on February 5th, 2021.  They also have bookings with full kitchen available at any time.

The Caroline Legion is always looking for new members and despite popular belief, you do not have to be a veteran to join.  The cost for a membership is $40.00 per year.  For more information please call Diane Dobson @ 403-722-2531.

This legion is a great asset to our community.  It showcases our precious veterans and hosts many fun events throughout the year, including an annual Remembrance Day ceremony.  We are thrilled to celebrate them.
